Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for addressing Production equipment and process issues in a timely and effective manner. This position will generate and implement ideas for process improvement. Knowledge of injection molding, vibration welding, and manufacturing equipment as well as the operator’s skill level in production is required for success in this position.
The Manufacturing Engineer must be able to work cooperatively with maintenance, production, safety, R&D personnel, the quality department and lab staff.

Essential Functions:
1. Determine root cause of Production issues and implement corrective actions within validated guidelines. If outside of validated guidelines, coordinate validation activities for any changes.
2. Work with Lean Coordinator to create and implement cost savings solutions.
3. Develop documentation as required for equipment installation and maintenance of equipment into final quality system documents for release to plant/lab. Also be able to provide or assist with training on these documents as needed.
4. Identify equipment enhancements and specify equipment requirements for capacity expansion (including update improvements) and automation.
5. Assist R&D and Engineering in transitioning products and processes from development to Manufacturing.
6. Develop and execute projects according to defined schedules and budgets.
7. For projects requiring external resources, recruit qualified contractors, and serve as a primary point of contact for these contractor activities on site unless otherwise designated.
8. Perform other engineering, facilities management and maintenance work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
a. 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
2. Minimum Experience required:
a. 0 – 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
3. Skills Required:
a. Ability to understand production facility and equipment requirements
b. Experience using 2D AutoCad and Solidworks
c. Experience with Injection Molding. Vibration Welding, and automation
d. Quality focus
e. Good oral and written technical presentation skills
f. Team work skills
g. Experience in mechanics and or hydraulics is a plus.

a. Understand operation of production and testing equipment. Ability to use diagnostic maintenance equipment.
